What questions should I ask when looking for a wedding photographer?
We actually devote an entire blog post about this very topic! I have come up with 3 questions to ask your wedding photographer that will tell you all you ever need to know about them.
What are your biggest tips for choosing a photographer?
I have a 2 fail proof steps to help you find the perfect photographer for you.
#1. Find a wedding photographer whose images you love! After all, your wedding images are what you will remember your wedding by and you want to make sure you are obsessed with those images for the rest of your life.
#2. Find a photographer who you “click” with. You are going to spend as much time if not more time with your photographer than your new husband on your wedding day. It is so important to make sure you are comfortable with this person. The best way to figure this out is by picking up the phone and calling them instead of emailing initially, you can get a good idea of their personality this way. The second thing you need to do is meet them in person, make and appointment to stop by their studio, grab coffee, or even go to lunch! If you wouldn’t feel comfortable going to lunch with this person then you probably won’t feel comfortable with them following you around on your wedding day. After all, this is the most important day of your life thus far!
How many weddings do you accept each year?
We only accept 2 weddings each month. I want to make sure that I can get to know each one of my brides and offer them a personalized experience. By keeping my Karinda K. weddings family small, I am able to invest time in each and every bride. Ultimately your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life and I want to make sure I am available for you whenever you need me not only on your wedding day, but in the months leading up to your wedding.
How far in advance should I book my wedding?
Due to the limited number of weddings I accept each year my schedule normally books up a year in advance.
How far in advance should I schedule my engagement session?
Engagement sessions should be scheduled 4-6 months before your wedding. You may want to plan on doing your engagement session sooner if you plan on inviting many guests from out of town and need to send out save the dates earlier so that they can make travel arrangements.
How far in advance should I schedule my bridal portraits?
Your bridal portraits should take place at least 3 months prior to your wedding.
What is included in your wedding collections?
Each one of my brides receives a complementary engagement session when they book their wedding. First of all, I LOVE engagement sessions, they are my favorite. It is so much fun to get to know my couples and see the love between them. Second, this engagement session makes a huge difference in your wedding day because you and your fiancé will feel comfortable in front of the camera. It also helps the portrait time on your wedding day go by quickly.
Do I receive the digital files from my wedding day?
Yes! When creating your custom wedding collection you can choose to receive your digital files delivered via digital download or on a USB drive with a custom wooden keepsake box. All images come with a print release that allows you to print your images up to an 8×12. Due to the nature of products and the fact that we do photograph portions of your wedding day on 35mm film, it is vital that all images larger than an 8×12 are printed directly through our professional print lab.
How much should I plan on investing on my wedding photography with Karinda K.?
Most clients invest $6000-$8000 on their complete wedding coverage.
Are there any prints included in my wedding collection?
Depending on what you decide to include in your custom wedding collection, most clients will receive a set of 80-90 4×6 prints to tell the story of your wedding day, these prints come packaged in a wooden keepsake box along with your USB drive. After each session and after wedding day we will meet for an image reveal where you will have the option or purchasing any heirloom wall art or albums you would like with your favorite images.
How many images will I receive from my wedding day?
The number of images you receive from your wedding day depends on how many hours of coverage you choose to have on your wedding day. Typically I deliver an average of 60-80 images per hour of coverage, however I am known to over shoot and sometimes end up delivering 800-1000+ images from your wedding day. I want you to be able to look back through your images and remember every single moment that happened on your wedding day.
